steFANedit has just released his new fanedit You Expecting Someone?
This is a fanedit of The new york ripper

    steFANedit:
""You Expecting Someone?" is an ugly, misogynistic, immoral, sleazy, hardcore and reprehensible piece of trash that our society is headed straight into the gutter!
I love old black&white horror movies from the twenties-thirties-forties, what I’ve created is meant to be the nastiest and meanest movie from that era. So mean spirited and brutal actually that it hasn’t even been released until now."

"Mother of Dragons is a Game of Thrones fan edit. This is part one of what I hope will be a trilogy covering Daenarys' story. Obviously, the HBO series will have to finish before I can finish the fan edits, so this will be years in the making. Mother of Dragons covers her story/perspective through seasons 1 and 2 of the show, only showing Westeros when necessary to move the story along."

As a special May the 4th treat, njvc has released PULP EMPIRE.

    njvc:
"My intention was to take The Empire Strikes Back and remix it, using songs from and inspired by the films of Quentin Tarantino. 100% of the score has been replaced, as well as overdubbing Yoda with Pai Mei, from Kill Bill Volume 2.

There are many visual nods to Tarantino as well, but in no way is this intended to be a new Tarantino film! It's intended as a fun homage to one of my favourite filmmakers, and a remix of one of the best films ever made. Steering away from the Tarantino vibe, I have also included a hero moment for most of the main characters, and thrown in a few songs that Tarantino would never use in a million years... Hope you enjoy it!"

Gatos just released his new fanedit!

"Liquid Courage" is a fanedit of the Robert Zemeckis film "Flight" that strengthens the story of Captain Whip by removing the contrived elements and tightens up the pacing.

    Gatos:
"I'm a fan of most stuff that Denzel Washington does. I was looking forward to this movie, despite the horrible marketing - ruining the surprise in the trailer! While I did enjoy the movie I felt that it dragged in places and was a bit too long. I didn't like the ending very much. It was corny IMO. My intention with this edit was to make the movie a bit faster paced and to change the ending."

Inline Image With Cosmogony, The Man Behind The Mask won the Fanedit of the Month for March 2013!
Thanks to all the faneditors who made an edit that month and to all the people who voted for this FEOTM.
Cosmogony is a fanedit using a lot of movies to tell the story of humantity and nature, from the creation of life to wherever we are going.

TMBTM: "When I started this work I thought it would be cool to use all the great movies about the various wars and iconic moments in human history... But it did not turn like that. I needed to have room to show various stories more centered around certain characters (lots of them fictional), events and ideas than making a list of "known moments".
The edit is quite slow paced and contemplative. With mostly only music, except some dialogue at key points."

    Congratulations, TMBTM!

BionicBob just released his new fanedit: The Shadow Strikes!
This is an alternate version of The Shadow that makes the hero more mysterious and darker.

    From BionicBob:
"This is not an aggressive fan edit, as I love about 90% of this movie and watch it often.
But I wanted to create an alternate viewing version that makes the Shadow more mysterious and darker. To this end, I have cut all direct explanations of his origin. I have made all scenes that feature the Shadow more serious, removing any or all forced humor where possible.
And of course, I have altered the video to a grainy, public domain style black and white adventure B-movie."

Fanedit.org has been given the amazing opportunity to present a panel on fanediting at BlasterCON.

BlasterCON is a new fan-run convention oriented towards lovers of 70s and 80s pop culture. One of the guests of honor is actor Bill Blair. Mr. Blair is the current Guinness World Record Holder for 'Most Special Effect Make-up Characters Portrayed in a Career'.

They have invited the administrators to host an Introduction to Fanediting panel as part of their “The Best Stuff You Never Heard Of” programming. They have also asked us to hold an in-depth workshop on the art and craft of fanediting, to make people realize this is something anybody can do. The keynote speakers will be L8wrtr, reave, blueyoda and Neglify.

If you live nearby or know of anybody who would be interested in attending, this is a great chance to come along and meet fellow editors, introduce your friends and family to fanediting, and see a live presentation by some of the boys. When else will you get to see blueyoda L8wrtr Neglify and reave together on stage?
