"I first met Artoo in 1976. I was visiting George's company at his studio. I was drinking some water and decided to throw my styroform cup away. I went over to the trash can in the corner, but the lid wouldn't come up. So I kicked it a few times. It began to squeak and bleep and make all these noises. I kicked it three or four times and it fell over. And George came over and said "What are you doing to Artoo?" And I said, "Well, I was trying to throw my styroform cup away in this trash can." And he said, "That's not a trash can. That's Artoo-Detoo!"

Harrison Ford? ah, no, it was probably Steven Spielberg. 1976 was too early for harrison Ford to enter the set.

There was a sequel planned with Chris Farley and Chris Rock where they would sort of take over the franchise, but that obviously never happened. Now, it looks like we may get a completely CGI flick, which Bill Murray has agreed to in his crotchety old age.

And now, back to the quiz...

By all rights, this thing should be unknown. But it was made notorious.

Apparently, half the budget went to pot, if you know what I mean.

See, there's this guy, just walking along in the desert, and he finds an amulet and a gun, and well, they grow on him... and he starts shooting all the aholes in town.

More clues available. But Cassidy and Boon are both here, so that shouldn't be nessecary.

Jaiman Tuckuh

When I say it was made notorious, I mean that many, many years later it recieved the highest form of recognition possible for a movie of that catagory...

For target practice, he used a sign that read "Star Wars".

Yep. I figured you'd get it (with clues left over).

I saw that thing at a drive in, back in the day.

Those stop-motion aliens were cool. Their ship was neat. The weapon was good. And that alien language was da shiznit. The pacing was excruciating. They had all the right elements (Greig Jein for the spaceship, Dave Alan for the aliens. Keenan Wynn, Roddy McDowall. Great concept)... just no money, and a half-hour script with half-assed dialog.

I'm gonna pay too much for the dvd, and run the aliens through a slo-mo program, to increase the framerate on their movement. Then I'll snag the MST3K version (which I haven't seen yet! Ack!). They should be released together as a box set.

-----------------------------
You still there?

[Marks a line on the ground]

Cross that line, kid, I'll cut your little teddy bear in half. Last kid that crossed that line, I had to summon up the Spinach Monster with my rock 'n' roll magic. The Spinach Monster grabbed him, pulled him underground and made him eat spinach all day. Rumor has it, kid... he's still there.
