Funny, at the very second I was reading the phrase above, the trailer for the DVD came on the TV and used that very line. Spooky.

The movie. Even had Tubbs in it. The guy who made it, MIKE JITTLOV, says at the end of the dvd to distro it, so I do.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-01-2007, 10:35 PM
Wickid! Sounds like a trip! IMDB's forums has a guy who said it's free to distro, and he said it's torrented "most places", but I'm finding LD rips. Was there an actual dvd source, or are they all from LD? There's also the short, a DV cam of a 16mm.

Hey yeah, Philip Michael Thomas, the real Tubbs. And Angelique Pettyjohn (TOS Gamesters of Triskeleon).

http://www.wizworld.com/

drgonzo369
04-01-2007, 10:48 PM
Yea, mine is an LDrip I got a couple years ago. Still damn good quality, so I'm happy with it. There is an ftp with an HQ version of the 1979 (which I'm pulling now). Supposedly, someone restored it in widescreen from a VHS tape, but the OAR is 4:3 and so is my LDrip, so I'm good until a real dvd comes out (which probably never will).

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-01-2007, 11:15 PM
Kewl! An FTP site, huh? You gonna do a conversion to dvd?

Yeah, I don't have much of a Debbie Harry library... I found a sample for Desire Brings me Back, and I thought I was all set to compare... but I couldn't find any that I could play, for Def, Dumb and Blond. Yeah, I should install more player stuff.

Anyway, it's nice to know there's actually an official dvd of Rock and Rule, 2-disc set, even. I think I'll pick that up when I get Fire and Ice.

So, I guess I'll re-ask my scrambler question, with a little more hintage.

boon23
04-04-2007, 11:14 AM
ok... bad English...
I can do better:
Riggs and Murtaugh both have animals. What are their names?

04-04-2007, 11:18 AM
ahhhhhhhhhh, that makes much more sense. :)

Heinrich
04-04-2007, 01:22 PM
murtaugh?s cat was called burbank and I think riggs? dog went by the name sam...

boon23
04-04-2007, 02:15 PM
oh yes, this is exactly right.
Your turn, Hairy Hein.

Heinrich
04-04-2007, 03:07 PM
name the movie with the following actors in it:

this one was the villain in a western with will smith

this one was a lousy batman

this one sang ?time is on my side? before he died

boon23
04-04-2007, 03:11 PM
oh that is easy...tha tis that Shakespeare flick:
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.
the actors: Kenneth Branagh (Wills mith western villain)
Michael Keaton (which was actually a better Batman than Val and George)
Denzel Washington (Fallen)

Heinrich
04-04-2007, 03:19 PM
yup. there you go, pumpkinpie...

boon23
04-04-2007, 03:28 PM
ok, I'll make one in that style too:
I will describe three of the actors from different movies
In which movie did they play together?

She became for free what others couldn't pay for, because of a name she didn't even mention.
He was hanged for sending a letter. It was his destiny.
She received a free video store membership, but did not want to rent Chevy Chasey.

Should be tough enough...but is a nice one.

boon23
04-05-2007, 08:18 AM
is it so hard?
ok... let's take No.2 again. In the movie I described him before, he is also the friend of someone throwing a coin again and again and it is about 50 times "Head" in a row.

boon23
04-05-2007, 05:44 PM
ok..let's stick to No.2:
the friend of the actor I am looking for is played by Gary Oldman. The movie is based on a famous classic.

Cassidy
04-05-2007, 09:45 PM
ok..let's stick to No.2:

...?...

...?...

The Scarlet Letter?

boon23
04-06-2007, 01:56 AM
nope....
the famous classic is of course Shakespeare's "Hamlet".

SEANWOOKIE?
04-06-2007, 02:40 AM
The Lion King?

boon23
04-06-2007, 02:45 AM
we are still looking for actor No.2...
another hint:
the movie based on "Hamlet" was directed by Tom Stoppard and is actually special and very funny. You have to be in the mood for it.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 02:46 AM
Not having seen it... "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead", perhaps?

Edit: and that was before having seen your last post, Boon. I could've probably searched that.

Edit: Confused, here. So does my guess merely provide a clue to the real question's answer?

boon23
04-06-2007, 03:01 AM
yes, Jaiman, you just figured out in which movie actor no.2 is playing.
Now to figure out, who he is and then the other 2 actors, to finally find out, which movie I am asking for.
of course, if you got this one, you can start guessing.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 03:12 AM
Ok, I know the name of actor #2...

Was the movie edited by CBB, mayhaps? ;)

(You know the one).

boon23
04-06-2007, 03:40 AM
hehehe, now that would be a major hint, wouldn't it?
How about this: the movie was edited by ADM. :D

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 03:41 AM
Well that could take weeks!

:-D

boon23
04-06-2007, 03:44 AM
How about another hint for actress #3:
in htis movie, she was followed by her lover for a long time and one thing he found out: she was always alaways on time (which is actually a miracle if you consider, what kind of person she was).

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 03:45 AM
I take "Pulp Fiction" for 500, Boon.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 03:46 AM
Dang, you gave another clue while I was typing. I haven't watched my guess, yet.

boon23
04-06-2007, 03:47 AM
oh, you got it!!!!
and here are the actors and the movies I was asking for:
Uma Thurman in KILL BILL episode 1
Tim Roth in ROSENCRANTZ AND GULDENSTERN ARE DEAD
Amanda Plummer in THE FISHER KING.

you are up, Jaiman, give us some Star Trek :) (and finish those Borg scenes finally! :))

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 03:51 AM
I figured Uma Thurman was one of them, but I've only watched the beginning of Kill Bill I, so far. (I'm a pathetic movie watcher lately.

If I do another Star Trek, it'll be too searchable or too obscure.

Unless I can include tv... ;) Then it'll be wayyyy too obscure. :)

I would be working on Borg, but I spend all my time on trivia. :) Kidding, Pauley, just kidding.

boon23
04-06-2007, 03:53 AM
:D poor, pauley79...

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 03:54 AM
This actor turned down a credit in the Star Trek movie that he played a significant role in.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 08:03 PM
I thought half the people on this board would know.

But it's very easy to research.

I have a giveaway hint, if nobody wants to do the legwork. :-P

04-06-2007, 09:09 PM
Its not that I'm too lazy to do the leg work. Its just that to me, doing the leg work would be regarded as cheating. I only use the thing between my ears to answer these questions.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 09:21 PM
That's fair, Warb'.

I'm a cheater, myself. :)

I give everyone explicit permission, if that matters.

f1209
04-06-2007, 10:06 PM
I'm pretty sure this was Odo himself

Rene Auberjonois

as Col West in

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-06-2007, 10:19 PM
Did he refuse the credit for it? Probably if he's uncredited, huh? Maybe that's why his non-distant parts were deleted from the theatrical.

The actor I'm thinking has much, much more screen time in the film.

The actor's actual last name is the same as a major TOS character's.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 01:51 AM
Oh good grief.

Ok, if no one guesses it, by the time you come back, f1209, then I'll give it to you, 'cause that was a good guess.

It was a weird mystery, in fandom, a few years before ST6. We thought he was rejecting Trek, but later on, it was said that his agent was trying to negotiate a better spot in the credits.

SEANWOOKIE?
04-07-2007, 03:17 AM
Is it Woopie Goldberg?

boon23
04-07-2007, 03:22 AM
well, you mentioned that it was an actor (not an actress) and a "he", so I ruled out Guinan.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 03:30 AM
That's true, Boon. Yep "he".

Guinan was uncredited in Generations & Nemesis, for some reason. And she declined playing Guinan in ST6.

But the movie, with the actor that I'm thinking of, was before ST6.

Another clue: Before ST4.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 03:43 AM
Keeping it obscure, the actor played in the first movie of a famous trilogy (not Trek).

He was also uncredited in a movie that had an orangutan as a lead character, alongside a famous star who's characters often weilded guns.

Have we just plain run out of guessable questions?

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 03:53 AM
In the Trek movie, he disagreed with his boss.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 04:20 AM
In his other uncredited appearance, he was a biker.

In the Trek movie he was patterened after a biker.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 04:28 AM
He didn't want to fight Kirk, which would've frustrated Kirk's plans.

If you don't get this one, you are going to feel sooooo stupid.

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 06:03 AM
Now y'all just fuckin with me, right?

Ok. One of the 1st 3 Trek movies.

The actor refused a credit in the movie.

The character has a lot of on screen time, and a fair amount of dialog.

Describing the character:

He argues with his leader. He doesn't want to fight with Kirk. If he gets his way, it will ruin Kirk's plans.

You have seen the movie.

I will settle for the character's name. Or a description of his role.

boon23
04-07-2007, 06:21 AM
Judson Earney Scott?

Jaiman Tuckuh
04-07-2007, 06:29 AM
Thank you!

We can finally put this thread out of our misery.

Bet ya won't tell me to ask a Trek question next time, will you?

Make it a tough one, Boon. We need the rest. ;)

boon23
04-07-2007, 06:40 AM
I definitely will ;-) It was fun watching you getting more and more desperate.

okaaaaay....
