Hey,
So I'm trying to rip a chapter from a movie with Decrypter. It comes out the right size and all, but once I put it in Womble, it recognizes the m2v as a 29 second file instead of 3 min., keeping the 3 min. AC3 audio! My other problem is trying to export surround sound while also using stereo mp3 files for certain scenes. Any advice on fixing this dilemma? :-o

You did use the MPEG GOP Fixer to fix the timecode errors on the video, right?

Yes, I did, and believe it or not it actually made the file 29 seconds flat! Before, the clip was just scrunched into a 29 sec. segment, and when I moved the cursor over it, the preview showed stills from the entire scene. :-(

perhaps it is arccoss structure protection screwing up your rip? Is it a newer film that has come out since decrypter's demise?

No; I think Battle Royale 2 was release in 2004 at the latest, and it came with battle royale, which ripped fine. Do you think something is wrong specifically with that disc?

the problem with cell/structure protection is that in many cases your disc will rip fine but upon burning or playback it is really fucked. You can copy a disc with arccoss but messing with it later you will see its nasty results.

Hmm...then if DVD Decrypter isn't decoding it correctly, what other software can you recommend that might work?

yep cant go wrong with anydvd and dvd decrypter.

So I should use anyDVD, then decrypter to extract the file? :-?

well the problem right there is that dvd decrypter does not open up ripped disc on your hard drive. The super old (but still available) smart ripper however can do this and do exactly what you want.

you start AnyDVD and let it run in the background, then fire up Decrypter and do your thing, this double whammy works great, have not had a problem yet with this combo.
