WELCOME TO FANEDIT.ORG, FELLOW FANEDITOR.
This website was created as a home for fanedits and people interested in the art of fanediting, which allows average people to accomplish incredible things.
The studios may have the big budgets the stars and starlets and names, but we have the ideas they didn't think of or didn't dare to create. Our fanedits don't need a happy ending or the good looks of one particular star or the nonsense from a terrible writer or the stupid soundtrack so falsely recorded to fit a movie. Everything can be altered, replaced, improved to get what we really want: more great movies!
Our art is always connected to legal issues, and rightfully so, because our edits require material which is copyrighted. And that is where our rules come in:
1. No fanedit is ever to be sold. We are completely NON PROFIT. See further explanation for this in our forum. You may send it to others for the true price of a blank DVD and postage, but that's it.
2. You and everyone who watch fanedits need to own an original copy. Without it you commit an act of piracy (this rule is based on the same law that allows certain DVD players to alter movies for parental reasons or to the owners likings).
IF YOU HAVE CREATED A FANEDIT AND WANT INFORMATION ABOUT IT LISTED ON THE SITE, HERE THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: FILL OUT THE FANEDIT SUBMISSION FORM ON IFDB. IT IS LOCATED UNDER USER MENU (YOU MAY NEED TO LOGIN).
You will need to attach cover art, BUT DO NOT include links to your actual fanedit files. Fanedit.org does not host fanedits, nor does it provide links to downloads. Fanedit.org simply lists edits by editors who have proven to produce fanedits meeting an expected standard of quality.
Cover art must be a complete package design as well as DVD label. A poster design is not enough. For information on cover art design visit the Coverart Submission page.
