How to Add IFDB Metadata to Your Plex Media Server

If you have Plex installed on your computer, you can have your fanedits populated with the metadata provided by IFDB thanks to member Tomfin46. The installation should take less than five minutes. This tutorial assumes you already have Plex installed and a basic understanding of how it works.

Requirements
Plex Media Server
IFDB.bundle

1.) Download the IFDB.bundle from Github.

GitHub

2.) Unzip the file. A folder will be decompressed called IFDB.bundle-master. Rename this to IFDB.bundle.

3.) Now we need to copy IFDB.bundle in Plex’s plugins folder. If you’re on Windows, press Win + R and copy the following into the command prompt:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins

If you’re on OS X, press Command + Shift + G and copy the following into the dialog box:

~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins

MacGo

Copy IFDB.bundle into the Plug-ins folder. Now restart your Plex server.

4.) In the left column choose the Library you’ve setup for Fanedits. If you haven’t already done this do so now.

PlexLibraries

Go in and edit the libraries settings. Choose Advanced and change the Agent to Internet Fanedit Database.

PlexAdvanced

5.) Save Changes.

Next time Plex scans your Fanedit library it will update the listings to match those on IFDB.
