Blue Skies on Mars: A Total Recall Fanedit http://www.fanedit.org/ifdb/media/reviews/photos/thumbnail/300x300s/b7/a9/d6/_blue-skies-cover-134188966421.jpg Hot
How violent? Try a bloody shootout on a Martian escalator between Arnold and armed goons, in which Arnold holds up the cadaver of a slain bystander as a bullet shield; or savor the climactic fighting scene in which the musclebounder causes an adversary’s forearms to be severed between a rising elevator and a rock ledge.
In the midst of all the gunfire, the bone-crunching and the Martian local color (a collection of latex-faced mutants), the producers try desperately to come up with that anthemic Arnold retort, the sardonic (and of course, mispronounced) one-liner that will please the crowd. There are plenty of them.
And since this film involves memories and perception of reality, what better way to really stir things up than with the good ol’ mementomix.
So just as a reminder: color is the present and B/W is the future in backwards chronology.
Hope this fanedits creates a memory of a lifetime.
WARNING!!!: This fanedit is not for everyone. It’s not intended as a “fix” but as a new ‘ride’.
if you didn’t enjoy the broken chronology of MEMENTO or thought THE DARK KNIGHT:Remixed by jorge didn’t work
then I would suggest you skip this fanedit because it’s more of the same.
Also, many enjoy the Over-the-top camp humor and action. That is also mostly gone in this fanedit.
Is anyone left? Well then you might enjoy this re-arranged, tone down version.

I think that this might be hard to follow without knowing the original already. Fortunately, I cannot imagine that reality because I love Total Recall. This was a really cool and fresh take on the narrative. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I'll continue to watch this and the original both regularly.
Count me as a fan of the original. Saw it theatrically a couple times, defended it in arguments.
Bought the VHS, later the Laserdisc, finally the DVD in a round tin resembling Mars.
Total Recall, to me, was the last good Arnold film. Have not liked - or bought - a title after this.
To be honest, if someone is not familiar with Total Recall, they will got lost with Jorge's edit.
A lot was cut, and the linear narrative is a choppy mess. Plot points bounce back and forth, and I never got a feel for Kuato's group, the Agency motivations, or why Hauser-Quaid bothered going to Rekall or Mars for that matter.
Audio sounded fine. Video- black n white sequences (all on Mars?) were well rendered. The color palate (on Earth?) was harsh - perhaps by design. Very 70s looking.
I appreciated all the thought and work that went into Blue Skies On Mars. I'll watch Total Recall again, then return to this one.
this is the first jorge edit i've seen and as an faneditor there's some really good stuff within this edit, the flashback montage sequence being a particular highlight. however while total recall was already a complicated film this edit makes things even more complicated. i found things pretty hard to follow with the constant back and forth. i don't mind a story that's been told out of sequence but i couldn't help but feel disconnected between who was who. maybe the edit would have benefited with 5 or 10 mins extra just to show a better understanding of peoples motives and to get to know some of the characters sooner
overall an enjoyable edit but not one that i would return to
This was a pretty kick ass fanedit. I wasn't really all that in love with the Mementomix but the parts that were excellent overshadowed the weaker parts easily.
