Week of December 17, 2017 – New Fanedit Releases

[notphone]This week we have three releases including two from first time faneditors. They are: Invasion by bionicbobCaptain America: The Winter Soldier – Defrosted Edition by Bobson Dugnutt, and The Gill-Man: B+ Movie Edition by The Scribbling Man.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Defrosted Edition – As Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier. This edit extends the film to it’s longest possible length using a variety of sources. All deleted and extended scenes have been masterfully reintegrated into the movie.

The intent of this edit was “to create the longest possible version of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

The Gill-Man: B+ Movie Edition – My chief aim with this edit was to cut down the filler and in the process create what is hopefully a shorter, better paced and more enjoyable experience. I didn’t want to remove any scenes or dialogue, if possible – the result was that no scenes were cut, but a small handful of negligible dialogue was removed. My approach was to do numerous small trims throughout the film in the hope that the viewer would not necessarily be able to tell if anything was cut, but simply find themselves being much more engaged and entertained compared to when they viewed the original. No scene was left untouched.

Invasion – Recut the 3 episodes (126minutes) into a single movie (100minutes). I streamlined the narrative by focusing on only two story arcs — Barry and Ollie. Gone is the Kid Flash and Prof. Stein subplots as they are unnecessary to drive the main plot. Also, significantly cut the Arrow episode so it feels less like an anniversary celebration episode, thus stopping the story dead in its tracks, and more like it is part of the Dominator’s plan.
